HoYoVerse confirmed the 5.6 Genshin Impact Special Program will return at 5am PT/8am ET on April 25, 2025, and it suggests a return to the Mondstadt region. The teaser image featured folks like Albedo, Jean, Kaeya, and Venti. However, there are no exact details as to why just yet. It could even be a Genshin Impact Windblume Festival hint. The showcase will air on Twitch and YouTube, as usual.
The announcement suggests that this is one of the interlude updates for Genshin Impact. The Natlan Chapter V Archon Quests wrapped up earlier in the 5.0 update series. Since these types tend to deal with the overall mystery of the world and tend bring up Khaenri'ah and people tied to it, it makes sense that Albedo, Kaeya, and Venti would appear.
This also could be a hint that the Mondstadt Windblume Festival might return to Genshin Impact. While this is an event that repeats in the game, it isn’t a guaranteed annual one like the Lantern Rite, which first launched in 1.3 in 2021 and appeared every year since in either January or February. The first Windblume Festival appeared in 1.4 in 2021, but we haven’t seen it again since the second in 3.5 in 2023.
The highlighted characters also suggest the featured banners we might see. Jean is always available on every banner as a possible five-star, as is Kaeya as a four-star unit. However, Albedo and Venti are both limited five-star units.
Genshin Impact is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, PC, and mobile devices, and the Special Program for the 5.6 update will air at 5am PT/8am ET on April 25, 2025.
