Last weekend, the long-awaited Spider-Man: Brand New Dayexploded into life on the box office stage, storming to several eye-catching records. Not only did the film earn the biggest opening weekend haul in domestic history, but it also earned the largest preview haul with $72 million, as well as the biggest opening day with just shy of $170 million. It took Tom Holland's return as Peter Parker less than a week to break the billion-dollar boundary, doing so in the second-fastest time ever.
