Let's face it: the undead will never die. Vampires have been a fictional goldmine since at least the 1800s, and just when it seems like we've seen every possible fictional iteration of these blood-sucking fiends, visionary modern writers make them relevant once again (see: the success of Robert Eggers' Nosferatu and Ryan Coogler's Sinners). That said, some periods have been more oversaturated with vampire material than others, making it harder for stories to stand out from the crowd.
