Producing a faultless finale is no easy feat. It needs to deliver an emotionally rewarding and powerful payoff that honors central themes and gives major characters appropriate resolutions while still offering something in the way of a surprise. This feat is arguably even more difficult for thriller series, with the innate nature of the genre—to raise questions and steer the story in smart and unpredictable directions—having to subside as narrative threads are closed, mysteries are explained, and engrossing, enigmatic character arcs are concluded.
