There are lots of things that can make a movie underwhelming or even outright bad, with one of the most challenging and frustrating being imperfect pacing. If something is well-acted, well-directed, and technically sound, it can still be difficult to get through and entirely enjoy if things either aren’t too well-written, or else a good screenplay is let down by lackluster editing.
