Power-dampening collars have been used numerous times to weaken the abilities of some of the strongest characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but some heroes wouldn't be affected by these restraints. Inspired by the Inhibitor Collars from Marvel Comics that were introduced as a means to neutralize mutant abilities during the Days of Future Past event, the MCU's power-dampening collars have been used for the same reasons, but not just for mutants.
