Founded in 1971, the company began with holiday specials and the animated segment "The Faithful Wookie" from the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special, before branching out to feature films like Rock & Rule and The Care Bears Movie, as well as over 100 television shows. Recently, Nelvana was put on pause by its parent company, Corus Entertainment, to focus on marketing the brands it already possesses, leaving the studio's future uncertain.
