Eyes were essential to the humor of The Far Side, but their significance often goes underappreciated, given how fine of a detail they often constituted in the overall scheme of a Far Side panel. However, Gary Larson's editor once called the looks on characters' faces the "best" part of The Far Side, and so it is worth taking a closer look at what he meant.
