Plenty of the best Western movies of all time came out around the middle of the 20th century, and the same can be said about Western literature. It’s not exclusively the case, but the genre might well have been at its height around the same time when it comes to both those mediums. Though the 1980s did seem to be a bit more fruitful for Western literature than Western cinema, as a couple of high-ranking titles here might suggest.
